We create champions – in science and in sports!

Students from the Technical University – Sofia achieved impressive results at the National University Games, held from May 7 to May 11, 2025, in Stara Zagora.

Petia Boyanova from FA won 3 gold medals in swimming and became the most awarded athlete at the tournament with a total of 5 honors. The swimmers of TU – Sofia achieved one of their best performances at the university games, securing 2nd place in the team ranking for men and 3rd place in the overall ranking.

Theodora Aleksandrova from FFoE also won a gold medal in the cheerleading competition, and our majorettes impressed the jury and the audience with their high level of performance, synchronization, and artistic presence.

1300 student-athletes from 28 higher education institutions participated in the competition – TU – Sofia was represented by 168 participants in the individual disciplines, along with 13 instructor-coaches.

The good performance of our volleyball players is also worth noting. The men's representative team of TU – Sofia finished second in the final standings, losing only to the professionals from NSA. The high class of our boys was demonstrated throughout the year, as with only two losses they reached the final of the tournament.

The performance of all athletes is a source of pride. The future engineers of the country showed that they can perform equally well in the laboratories and on the field, adding more honors to the University's trophy case – a total of 53 medals, including 4 gold, 20 silver, and 29 bronze, as well as 14 team cups and 3 individual prizes.

The achievements at the "University Games 2025" are the result of hard work, targeted effort, and excellent cooperation between students, faculty, and sports administrators. Thus, the Technical University – Sofia has solidified its leading academic role and its reputation as an institution that promotes sports and an active lifestyle.
