The EUt+ Presidency is an acknowledgment of the active role of the Technical University of Sofia in the development of the alliance and provides an opportunity for the university to contribute to defining its future strategic priorities in the field of European engineering education, scientific research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
This took place at the partners' working meeting of the European University Alliance (EUt+) in Dublin from June 29 to July 3, 2026, which coincided with the beginning of the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union - an important sign of the significance of European university alliances for the development of higher education, scientific research, and innovation. The forum at the Technical University of Dublin (TU Dublin) brought together rectors, faculty, researchers, and students from the nine partner universities in the alliance to discuss strategic priorities for its future development.
The rectors of EUt+ discussed key issues related to the development of the alliance. Among the main topics were the creation of a common legal entity to represent EUt+ and the formation of an Advisory Council as a future body supporting strategic management, in which all major groups in the university community would be represented - academic staff, administrative personnel, and students.
During the working week, the rectors also held a meeting with the EUt+ Student Council. The students presented their new executive team and reported on their activities over the past year, including their participation in the European Students' Union (ESU), the Home2 initiative, the FOREU4ALL seminar, the Soccer Project, and their support for the EUPeace declaration. During the discussion, emphasis was placed on the more active participation of students in the development of the alliance during the 2026–2027 academic year.
