On June 23, 2016, the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria (AICB) and the Technical University - Sofia (TU - Sofia) signed a "Framework Agreement for Cooperation." It was signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AICB, Mr. Vasil Velev, and the Rector of TU-Sofia, Prof. Dr. Eng. Georgi Mihov. The agreement has a broad scope and primarily addresses:
Exchange of information on activities and more important scientific, educational, business, and other events conducted or promoted by AICB and TU-Sofia;
Participation of AICB representatives and its members in presentations to students, lectures, seminars, conferences, meetings, or other events organized by TU-Sofia;
Participation of TU-Sofia faculty and other representatives in meetings, lectures, expert reviews, consultations, statistical and other studies, and events organized by AICB;
Informing TU-Sofia students about student internships conducted by AICB member companies;
Assistance from TU-Sofia and AICB in conducting training at TU for specialists and employees from AICB member companies;
Cooperation in the development of national and international projects, partnership between the two organizations under the OP "Human Resources Development", OP "Science and Education for Intelligent Growth", Horizon 2020 program, EASME program, ERASMUS + program, and other programs funded by national and European/international funds;
The agreement also allows for other forms of cooperation between AICB and TU-Sofia not explicitly mentioned. Every year in December, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AICB and the Rector of TU-Sofia will hold meetings to review the implementation of the Framework Agreement.
The Framework Agreement is considered particularly useful for both parties. The ultimate goal to be achieved is to ensure a better connection between the educational process at TU - Sofia and the needs of the real business, as well as the professional development of graduates in Bulgarian manufacturing companies.
