From April 8 to 12, Technological University Dublin hosted a working meeting with over one hundred representatives from the EUT+ alliance.
The meeting discussed the progress achieved so far and planned future priorities.
The agenda included conferences and informal working meetings, where the provision of high-quality education and the conduct of cutting-edge research were discussed. The plenary sessions included masterclasses on the framework of the European curriculum for cluster development and the preparation of performance results for key performance indicators. Mr. Timoteo Turi, Secretary General of the alliance, emphasized the impact of the new higher education package presented at the end of March by European Commission Vice-President Margaritis Schinas and Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Iliana Iotova. The three initiatives address legal and administrative barriers facing partner universities that create competitive programs for joint bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees. After a three-year pilot phase, EUt+ presented its strategy for the next phase of European universities to realize its ambition to rethink the role of technological universities in society, while simultaneously building a new institution on a European scale with a global footprint.
The highlight of the week was an event organized by the EUt+ Ideas Institute Think Tank under the title "What are European values?" Renowned political experts and scholars gathered to offer their perspectives on the values at the core of the European project, in the spirit of debate and open discussion.
