Program "Regions in Growth" 2014-2020 Denitsa Nikolova, who together with the rector Prof. Dr. Eng. Georgi Mihov, initiated (27.07.) the first academic project for renovation, air conditioning, and high-tech equipment of a higher education institution. A total of 43 million BGN will be received by 13 universities, through the OP "Regions in Growth" 2014-2020 managed by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, under the measure for supporting higher education institutions in Bulgaria by improving educational infrastructure.
High-quality engineering education, professional realization of young specialists, and leading applied research are strategic tasks for the development of TU-Sofia, which will consolidate it as a leading center for training and research in the region, as well as ensure its competitiveness on a European scale. In this process, the university's educational infrastructure plays a significant role, which requires quality changes adequate to the development of new technologies, emphasized Rector Prof. Georgi Mihov. This non-repayable financial assistance continues the university's tradition of being first and investing in better education, combined with the labor market and European integration processes for the development of a knowledge-based economy. This is a key initiative that will help us achieve our strategic goals.
The project leader, Prof. Dr. Nikola Kaloyanov, explained that utilizing the capabilities of modern information and communication technologies and updating the curricula is one of the project's objectives, as well as improving the living environment through interior renovation, providing aesthetic and functional furnishings, lighting and thermal comfort in the workplace, and establishing high-efficiency air conditioning systems with waste heat recovery.

through the comprehensive renovation of Block 3 and Block 1” which started at the beginning of the month butNovember 2016, has a total value of 3,500,000 BGN, of which 2,975,000 BGN is European and 525,000 BGN is national co-financing, with a duration of 24 months. In the two university directions prioritized by the project, over 3,700 students are enrolled. The main goal is to provide attractive engineering education and training to create competitive individuals with professional knowledge, skills, and competencies.
