
Corresponding Member Prof. Dr. Eng. Petko Petkov has been elected as an Academician in the field of "Engineering Sciences".

Prof. Petko Petkov is an alumnus of TU – Sofia, having graduated in the specialty "Automation and Telematics" in 1971. Since 1973, he has been an assistant, since 1982 an associate professor, and since 1995 a professor at the Faculty of "Automation" of the Technical University – Sofia. In 1979, he defended his doctoral dissertation (Candidate of Technical Sciences), and in 1993, he was awarded the scientific degree "Doctor of Technical Sciences". In 2004, he was elected as a Corresponding Member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
His main scientific contributions are in the fields: theory of automatic control – development of a new class of methods for synthesis with prescribed poles and synthesis of state observers for linear control systems; numerical methods for computer-aided design of control systems – a new method for perturbation analysis of problems in control theory; digital implementation of complex control laws – development of a methodology for synthesis and embedding of high-order complex control laws into microcontrollers and digital signal processors used for real-time control.
He has a total of 363 scientific publications, including 124 publications in foreign scientific journals and books and 71 in Bulgarian scientific journals, 7 monographs published abroad, 8 books and monographs published in Bulgaria, and 7 textbooks and study aids.
Prof. Dr. Eng. Georgi Todorov has been elected as a Corresponding Member in the field of "Engineering Sciences".

He is the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies and Chairman of the General Assembly of the Technical University – Sofia.
Prof. Georgi Todorov is an alumnus of TU – Sofia, with master's degrees in mechanical engineering and applied mathematics; he has specialized in the United Kingdom and Japan. In 1987, he became an assistant at TU – Sofia, in 1998 he defended his scientific degree "Doctor", in 2001 he was elected associate professor, and in 2011 professor. In 2019, he was awarded the scientific degree "Doctor of Sciences".
From 2008 to 2010, he was Deputy Dean, and from 2010 to 2019, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Technological Engineering at the Technical University – Sofia.
From 2019 to 2022, he served as Deputy Dean for Research and International Integration at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology.
Since 2022, he has been Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies at TU – Sofia. Head of the National Center for Mechatronics and Clean Technologies, Campus "Student City".
Prof. Georgi Todorov has dozens of scientific publications in refereed journals in Bulgaria and abroad; 7 international patents and utility models and 19 registered in Bulgaria.
His scientific and applied achievements are in the fields of: virtual engineering, engineering analysis, simulation modeling, 3D technologies, rapid prototyping technologies, and implantology.
