On the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Bulgaria, the head of the diplomatic mission, H.E. Temirtay Izbastin, visited TUS on a first introductory visit (18.10.). He held a meeting with the Rector, Corresponding Member Prof. Dr. Eng. Sci. Georgi Mihov, attended by Prof. Lyubomir Dimitrov, Deputy Rector for Academic Activities and Accreditation, and Prof. Ivan Yachev, Director of "International Exchange and Integration". The two sides discussed opportunities to expand Kazakhstan's ties with TUS - Sofia. One such opportunity is the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between TUS, a university from Kazakhstan, and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Bulgaria. H.E. Temirtay Izbastin expressed the Embassy's readiness to assist and expand the geography of TUS's contacts with universities from Kazakhstan.
The delegation from the Embassy also visited the recently opened Bulgarian-Kazakh Center for the Study of the Kazakh Language, Culture, and Exchange of Scientific and Technical Information at TUS. The Ambassador expressed his satisfaction with what he saw and his readiness to assist in enriching the Center's book fund, including books translated into Bulgarian. According to Ambassador Izbastin, opportunities for strengthening cultural ties between our countries are multiplying, with an emphasis on scientific and academic exchange.
