
In 09.2023, a high-level delegation from Infineon Technologies Austria, led by Dr. Ing. Sabine Herlitschka, Executive Director, visited the Technical University – Sofia. The guests toured the Center of Excellence in Mechatronics and Clean Technologies and met with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ing. Rosen Radoonov, Deputy Rector for E-Governance, Prof. Dr. Ing. Georgi Todorov, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies and Chairman of the General Assembly of TU – Sofia, and Prof. Dr. Ing. Georgi Angelov, Head of the Department of "Microelectronics" and Director of the Directorate "Information and Public Relations".
The purpose of the visit was to establish closer scientific cooperation between Infineon and Bulgarian academic partners, represented by TU – Sofia, to provide support for research activities in the field of microelectronics at the doctoral and master's levels, and to increase Europe's contribution to digitalization and decarbonization, strengthening the European microelectronics ecosystem and human resources overall by expanding know-how across the continent and the role of business and universities in these processes.
In front of students, doctoral candidates, and faculty, Dr. Ing. Sabine Herlitschka presented the company Infineon Technologies Austria and the opportunities it offers for internships and research projects.
The event was attended by H.E. Andrea Ikić-Böhm, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Bulgaria.
