On July 9, 2024, Dr. Marouan Ben Reffifa, Director of EPI Politechnique from Tunisia, visited the Technical University - Sofia. Dr. Ben Reffifa was received by the Rector of TU - Sofia, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Kralov, and during the meeting, opportunities for cooperation between the two universities were discussed in several areas:
- Erasmus exchange of students and faculty;
- Creation of joint double-degree programs;
- Training of doctoral students from Tunisia at TU-Sofia;
- Joint research activities between the two universities.
Dr. Ben Reffifa presented EPI Politechnique, which is part of the EPI Educational Group. The group encompasses three higher education institutions:
- EPI-Polytechnique
- EPI-Arch (Higher School of Construction and Architecture)
- EPI-Business School (University of Economics and Management)
At EPI Politechnique over 1000 students are enrolled and the main fields of study are:
- Mechatronics
- Information and Computer Technologies
EPI Politechnique is accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Tunisia. In addition, it has international recognition through the accreditations of many organizations from various European countries and holds an ISO 9001: 2015 certificate.
During his visit to the Technical University – Sofia, Dr. Ben Refifa met with the management of the Faculty of Transport,Prof. Tasho Tashev, Director of the Erasmus Office at TU – Sofia, and Assoc. Prof. Agata Manolova, Dean of the Faculty of Telecommunications.
The guest visited and familiarized himself with the National Center for Mechatronics and Clean Technologies, Campus "Student City", expressing his admiration for the modern equipment and the research opportunities of the Center. Finally, the guest from the Republic of Tunisia also visited the Faculty of French-language Electrical Engineering.
