On 13.12.2023, a Cooperation and Collaboration Agreement was signed between the Technical University – Sofia and "SOF Connect" AD, the operator of Sofia Airport.
The agreement was signed by the Rector of TU – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov, and the Executive Director of "SOF Connect" AD, Jesus Caballero Pinto. Representing TU – Sofia were Prof. Dr. Eng. Lidia Galabova, Deputy Rector for International Activities and Integration, Prof. Dr. Valeri Stoilov, and Prof. Dr. Mikhail Todorov.
The purpose of the agreement is to establish a partnership and collaboration to improve the quality of education and the qualifications of aviation specialists, to develop skills and knowledge in the field of civil aviation and airport operations, and to generate interest and motivation among TU – Sofia students for professional careers at "SOF Connect" AD.
To this end, "SOF Connect" AD will present the company to groups of students, organize thematic discussions, and accept students from the "Aviation Technology and Engineering" specialty at TU – Sofia for internships. It is also planned that employees of "SOF Connect" AD will participate in certain lectures and practical sessions related to airport operations, collaborate on developing curricula and educational content, and organize Open Days and campus visits for TU – Sofia students at Sofia Airport.
Following the signing of the agreement, the guests toured the National Center for Mechatronics and Clean Technologies, the "Student City" campus on the territory of TU – Sofia, and were highly impressed by the modern laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.
