
Students from the Technical University – Sofia won second place in the Business stars category for their project SolarBlinds – a new generation of external blinds that generate clean energy, reduce air conditioning costs, and provide comfort in buildings.

In the same category, the winner was a team from TUES at the Technical University – Sofia with the project Car BNP – a platform for hourly rental and leasing of parking spaces and garages.

Both projects were born and developed within the Student and School Innovation Hub of the Research Sector of the Technical University – Sofia.
The Solar Blinds project is already the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, and just a few days ago it was also honored in the Student Innovision category at the "Innovision Awards 2026" competition.

In the other 2 categories of the "Best Youth Startup in Bulgaria 2026" competition, a student from TUES won third place in the Future Unicorns category for the StampR project. The winner in this category was EduWiseBot – an AI-based platform for searching and managing corporate knowledge.
In the SDG Dragons category, first place was taken by RainReborn – an intelligent system for collecting and using rainwater.
Over 300 teams and 600 participants from across the country, aged between 18 and 29, joined the initiative with their business ideas. Up to the finals in the 3 categories, 30 teams reached, having gone through an intensive 3-month training and mentoring program.
The Technical University – Sofia is one of the partners in the competition, organized by the Fund of Funds and Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" under the patronage of the Minister of Innovations and Growth.
