
In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Technical University – Sofia and the 100th anniversary of the German company FESTO, the Rector of the Technical University – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, and the Manager of Festo Bulgaria, Kalin Dobrev, signed a 4-year Memorandum of Cooperation.



The academic leadership of the university visited the Technical Engineering Center and the production base of Festo Bulgaria, which has been developing production and R&D activities in the country for almost 40 years and now has over 1000 employees.


At the Technical Engineering Center in Sofia – the largest R&D center of the FESTO group outside Germany – company representatives showcased the latest demonstration installations, including a project by students from the Technical University – Sofia who are interning at Festo Bulgaria.


The cooperation between the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management at TU – Sofia and Festo Bulgaria provides opportunities for organizing internships for students and joint work on collaborative projects, participation of company representatives as guest lecturers in bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs at the university, as well as in presentations, lectures, and seminars.



Students can develop course projects and diploma theses on topics assigned by the company. The German company has the opportunity to support the renewal of equipment in the department's offices, halls, and laboratories, where many of its employees have taken their first steps in engineering for years.
