For the 11th consecutive year, on September 30, our country will be part of a mega event that takes place annually simultaneously in about 300 cities across Europe and the world - European Researchers' Night - and is implemented with the financial support of the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions. Within the framework of the project "European Researchers' Night 2016", the Technical University – Sofia, one of the partners in the project, will open the doors of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology.
The main goal is to improve public understanding of science and to increase engagement with societal issues through:
increasing public awareness in the fields of education, research, and innovation;
by overcoming negative stereotypes about scientists through information and direct contact, presenting them as accessible, creative, socially engaged, and supportive individuals;
expanding citizens' access to the benefits of scientific activities, thereby engaging science and society in a mutually beneficial collaboration;
improving the communication skills of active students, innovators, and entrepreneurs;
The presentation of scientific achievements will be interesting for students, students, teachers, researchers, and citizens.
During the Night of Researchers 2016, parallel activities will be held in various cities in Bulgaria - Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse, and Pleven, as well as digital - national and international - associated events organized by partners in Burgas, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Blagoevgrad, Kotel, and Asenovgrad.

FRESH Laboratory: Open House Night at Technical University - Sofia
As part of the „European Researchers' Night 2016“, the University will open the doors to several of its laboratories, including the „Virtual Reality“ laboratory. Experts will be present to introduce visitors to the activities of the selected laboratories, as well as to the capabilities of their equipment.
