Another 14 students became scholarship holders of Kozloduy NPP after successfully passing the final selection stage – an interview with a specially formed commission for this purpose. They were approved from a total of 21 young people who expressed interest in joining the scholarship program of the nuclear power plant. Since its establishment in 2018, the number of applicants, along with the number of those admitted to participate, continues to grow.
The new scholarship holders of the Society are graduates of the Technical University (TU) – Sofia, with 7 of them being part of the bachelor's program "Thermoenergetics and Nuclear Energy", while the remaining 7 have chosen to continue their higher education in the master's specialization "Nuclear Energy". Currently, there are 32 participants in the program, and 15 former scholarship holders of the Society are already applying what they have learned as part of the company's team.
Taking into account the need for specific measures to overcome the shortage of well-prepared personnel and to increase interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields, Kozloduy NPP has been supporting the education of students with a clear aspiration for a career in the energy sector for years. The growing interest in the program is evidence of the success of the nuclear power plant's youth initiatives, which aim to raise awareness among young people about opportunities for professional development in the nuclear field and to attract prepared and motivated specialists.
