Laboratory of Bioautomation, Bioinformatics and Bioengineering Systems and BioInfoTech Laboratory
Let science heal you!
At the scientific coffee, medical research on the latest fields in biotechnology, synthetic biology, systems biology, biomedical instrumentation, and bioinformatics will be discussed.
Nowadays, more and more people suffer from gluten intolerance. Studies show that this problem arises from early childhood, and medicine increasingly needs early diagnosis through information and communication technologies.
Innovation involves the implementation of the latest technologies in areas such as genetics (next-generation DNA sequencing, CRISPR), metagenomics, biomedical equipment for reproductive medicine, microfluidics, new bioprocesses, etc. The introduction of the latest scientific discoveries into the food industry, clinics and hospitals, and even into our own homes is a step forward to improve our healthcare and greater engagement from civil society.
Why is it necessary to introduce the latest scientific discoveries into medicine and our homes? How would they help our healthcare and how can society participate in the improvement of medicine? Will you be able to interpret the results of your research? Will you be able to guide the doctor in an emergency?

Science Café Discussions
The goal of the discussion at the Science Café is to propose an innovative model using information and telecommunications technology for:
- Optimization of medical treatment and healthcare
- Early diagnosis
- Informing citizens about their illness (how to interpret worrying signals and symptoms on their own)
- Reaction in specific cases by the doctor and the patient
- Receiving information by phone regarding possible problems and the need for consultation with a doctor
