Both secondary schools are part of the Technical University – Sofia structure. This is a unique model of symbiosis between secondary and higher education, which has been successfully operating for years. Students from both secondary schools are trained according to curricula and under the scientific supervision of the Technical University – Sofia. Many lecturers from TU – Sofia actively participate in the educational process.
The Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Iliana Yotova, was a guest at the National Professional Gymnasium of Computer Technologies and Systems in Pravets. She emphasized that the school has created the best model – simultaneously with higher education in the form of the Technical University – Sofia and business. The formula is very successful, she emphasized. She noted that today's students are the people who will develop and build the future, not only in Bulgaria but also in the world.
The director of the National Gymnasium of Computer Technologies and Systems in Pravets, Nikolay Sirakov, also noted that the connection with the Technical University – Sofia provides great opportunities for the students of the gymnasium to receive the highest education in the field of computer technologies and systems, and added that this year the gymnasium in Pravets is also considered an innovative school.
Other guests at the opening of the new academic year at the National Professional Gymnasium of Computer Technologies and Systems in Pravets were the Deputy Rector of the Technical University – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Lidia Galbova, the General Secretary of TU – Sofia, Nikolay Nikolov, and the Chief Accountant of the University – Dr. Maria Ivanova. Prof. Galbova wished the students to continue seeking new knowledge, not to interrupt their enthusiasm, natural curiosity, and desire for development.
The Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Natalia Miteva, was a guest at the opening of the academic year at the Technological College "Electronic Systems" (TCES). In her speech, she emphasized that over the last 20 years, the IT industry has changed the way we live, and noted that the world is not the same.
The director of TCES, Veselka Hristova, congratulated the incoming eighth graders and wished them to be consistent and eager to learn. In the family of TCES, great achievements are possible thanks to the spirit of creativity, support, and unity, she said.
The Deputy Rector of TU – Sofia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Rosen Radonov, the Deputy Rector of TU-Sofia, Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, Prof. Marin Hristov, and the scientific supervisor of TCES, Prof. Dr. Eng. Petar Yakimov, were present at the ceremony.
We congratulate the students of both elite gymnasiums and wish them to be very healthy, curious, to have fun from the heart, to turn education into pleasure, and to boldly build their future. The world is dynamic with the development of IT technologies, and both gymnasiums provide their students with the highest level of education in the field of this high-tech industry.
