For the third time, the Patent Office of the Republic of Bulgaria awarded the annual "Inventor of the Year" and "Innovative Company" awards for 2014. The awards are granted by a 7-member jury - representatives of the Patent Office, BAS, the Union of Inventors and technical universities.
The Golden Book of Bulgarian Discoverers and Inventors is a manifestation of public recognition for Bulgarian discoverers, inventors and breeders, whose achievements are significant for the world. To date, the authors of 17 Bulgarian discoveries, 122 Bulgarian inventors and 8 breeders have been entered in it.
The nominations for Inventor of the Year are in three categories: "Chemistry and Biotechnology", "Electronics and Electrical Engineering", "Mechanical Engineering and Construction". In each category, the inventions of 3 teams from the past year are nominated. The three inventions of Assoc. Prof. Lachezar Stoev and Dr. St. Hristov, in the "Mechanical Engineering and Construction" category, ensure high precision and productivity in grinding of rotating cylindrical parts with different stability.
