
Chief Technology Officer of the World Bank Yunus Ervin Singh visited the Technical University – Sofia. The purpose of the meeting was for the World Bank to get acquainted with the potential of TU – Sofia, the benefits of mutual cooperation, and the opportunity for students graduating from the university to work in the bank's offices.

Deputy Rector for International Activities and Integration, Prof. Dr. Eng. Lidia Galabova presented the Technical University – Sofia and its achievements in the field of science and higher education, long-term and beneficial business contacts and partnerships with large companies, as well as the prospects for TU – Sofia graduates to find the best jobs and successfully realize themselves in their professions.

The guest from the World Bank showed great interest in the curricula at TU – Sofia. Corresponding Member Prof. Dr. Eng. Georgi Todorov, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technologies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Agata Manolova, Dean of the Faculty of Telecommunications, and Prof. Ognyan Nakov, lecturer at the Department of Computer Systems and former Dean of the Faculty of Computer Systems and Technologies, introduced the guest to the latest and most modern specialties studied at the university, as well as the exceptional opportunities for research activities at the National Center for Mechatronics and Clean Technologies, the "UNITE" center, and the competence centers.

The guest asked the hosts about the specialties – "Cybersecurity", "Communication and Computer Networks", "Cloud Computing", and "Artificial Intelligence", as well as what are the opportunities and contacts of the university to organize internship programs in large companies. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Agata Manolova told Yunus Ervin Singh about the "Internships" and "Career Days" Forum at the Technical University – Sofia and explained the options offered to students to find their first internship and job, emphasizing the high demand for engineering professions in many branches of modern industry.

The possibilities for concluding a long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation agreement between the two organizations were also discussed.
