On June 23, 2023, at a ceremonial event, diplomas were awarded to over 150 graduates of the Faculty of Telecommunications – bachelors and masters, class of 2022. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, Deputy Rector for Academic Staff and Coordination, Prof. Dr. Eng. Iliya Iliev, Dean of the Faculty, Deputy Deans, faculty lecturers, and business representatives.
Prof. Iliev congratulated the graduates and said: "Dear friends, dear telecommunications engineers, at this solemn moment, on behalf of myself and the faculty's teaching and administrative staff, I congratulate you on the successful completion of your higher education. I congratulate you on the diplomas you will receive today, as well as on the qualities you have demonstrated, your proven abilities, your diligence, and above all, your ambitions. Today's ceremony is a celebration for you. This is an event where diplomas are awarded to all of you, the bearers of future successes. Bold, engineering pioneers, the best. I feel joy and satisfaction because I see young people in front of me who have worked hard to reach this point and become successful professionals. You have gone through demanding bachelor's and master's programs, shown exceptional talent and energy, demonstrated willpower and character, solved difficult problems, and coped with serious challenges. You, dear colleagues, are now part of the elite of the Bulgarian engineering nation. You will not only be telecommunications specialists, but many of you will build industry and manage the state. You are the ones who will lead our society in the coming years, and through your work and deeds, you must constantly strive to change it for the better. Today you received a higher education diploma. This is a certificate of your qualities as specialists in one of the most dynamic fields of the economy and public life, telecommunications. Your training and qualifications give you the opportunity for realization in other fields such as electronics and information technology. I sincerely hope that some of you will return to us and continue to study and teach at the university and the faculty. We also need young specialists who will work with us and continue the good traditions of the Faculty of Telecommunications. I wish you to create strong families with many children and to raise, guide, and encourage them in their studies, just as your parents did, so that one day you too can be proud of their achievements. Be good, responsive, and generous people, open to innovations, thirsty for even more knowledge, and uncompromising towards mediocrity. Once again, I wish you success and much happiness, health, and good luck!"
Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov also congratulated the graduates, saying: "It is a great honor and an even greater joy for me to be here among you on this bright academic holiday. Today, the diplomas for the educational and qualification degrees of Bachelor and Master will be officially awarded to students from the Faculty of Telecommunications. These diplomas will play a decisive role in your future life and professional realization. Not because they simply say "diploma," but because they bear the name of the Faculty of Telecommunications and, of course, most importantly, the prestigious Technical University – Sofia. The business sector can confirm this, and every employer knows our achievements. I sincerely hope that today's celebration will not be a day of parting. I want to assure you that the doors of the Technical University – Sofia, and in particular the Faculty of Telecommunications, will always remain open to you. However you choose to continue your path, do not lose contact with the university. We are here for you and will remain your mentors for life.
