
The "Krastyo Sarafov" National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts and the Technical University – Sofia have officially established a framework for strategic partnership in the fields of arts, education, and culture. The memorandum of cooperation was signed by the rectors of the two institutions – Corresponding Member Professor Dr. Mirosław Dachev (NATFIZ) and Professor Georgi Venkov (TU-Sofia).
The primary objective of the document is to expand and deepen the partnership between the two institutions in creating a productive environment for mutual sharing of experience and implementing joint activities. These include developing and implementing interdisciplinary master's and doctoral programs, introducing innovative educational models, and carrying out joint research and creative projects. Particular emphasis is placed on the application of innovative technologies – artificial intelligence, 3D modeling, and AR/VR solutions in the field of screen and stage arts.
The partnership will stimulate the active participation of PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and young scientists, as well as the exchange of resources, expertise, and best practices, with the aim of improving the quality and competitiveness of Bulgarian higher education in the labor market within a European and international context. The memorandum has a validity period of six years, with provisions for other institutions to join future joint initiatives.
Also present at the official meeting at NATFIZ were Professor Dr. Eng. Liliana Vacheva – Professor at the Technical University – Sofia, Chair of the National Sectoral Trade Union "Higher Education and Pedagogy" (NSTU "Higher Education and Pedagogy" – KNSB) and member of the Board of Trustees of NATFIZ, as well as Ms. Iva Yordanova – Functional Deputy Rector for Strategic Development and Partnerships.
