
Assoc. Prof. Vladislav Slavov spoke about the opportunities the university provides to young engineers
"We are proud to create a scientific product that is directly applicable in industry. The Technical University of Sofia is the university with the most patents in Bulgaria."
This was stated on Darik radio by Assoc. Prof. Vladislav Slavov from the Technical University of Sofia. He was a guest of Nadya Bright on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the higher education institution. Assoc. Prof. Slavov emphasized that TU creates a large part of the personnel for business in our country. He also spoke about the "upgrade" of specialties, so that future engineers are competitive in the labor market.
"In all specialties, we offer courses; the topic of the day is the ethical use of AI. Business seeks it, and we in education have the task of teaching students to use artificial intelligence ethically"
He also focused on the university's collaboration with colleagues from all over the world:
"Regarding the Erasmus program, we partner east of Fiji and west to the USA. North - Sweden, south - to South Africa. We have partnerships with the whole world; they are useful for us and for them. This expansion of worldview improves the quality of our education"
On October 24, 1945, by law, the Higher Technical Institute (since 1942) became the State Polytechnic, with two faculties. In 1965, the State Polytechnic was renamed the Higher Machine and Electrical Engineering Institute – HMEI. In 1995, it was transformed into the Technical University – Sofia.
