For this purpose, properties from two ministries and one agency are being transferred
The Council of Ministers adopted a decision providing for the expansion and modernization of the base of the Technological University "Electronic Systems" (TUES) at the Technical University - Sofia, as well as the creation of a common administrative environment for the structures of the Ministry of Innovations and Growth within "Sofia Tech Park".
The decision provides for the transfer of properties between the Ministry of Defense, the State Agency "Archives", and the Ministry of Innovations and Growth. The goal is more efficient and effective use of the state property fund, with buildings no longer needed by the Ministry of Defense being provided to "Sofia Tech Park" AD. Some of these will be designated as an innovative educational base for TUES. Subsequently, the Ministry of Defense will receive the premises vacated by the Ministry of Innovations and Growth and its structures, ensuring the continuation of its effective operations, while the State Agency "Archives" will be provided with a property on which an archive storage facility will be built.
The expanded base and its new location within the science and technology park will provide TUES with the opportunity to increase admissions and improve its material base. In this way, more specialists will be prepared to meet the needs of the Bulgarian IT industry.
Positioning educational institutions, high-tech companies, state structures, and research teams within "Sofia Tech Park" will create a direct link between education, science, business, and the state. This will contribute to increasing the effectiveness of public policies in the field of innovation and accelerate the transfer of knowledge and technology to the economy.
