The synchronization between industry and education is a guarantee of success, according to Prof. Eng. Lidia Galbova and Prof. Evgeni Stanimirov
Let us imagine that education and employers are the two parents of what will be born at the output of the educational system. They must work in sync to achieve good results. This was commented on by the Rector of the University of Economics in Varna, Prof. Evgeni Stanimirov, in his special multi-platform project for Bulgaria ON AIR "The Future: The Labor Market and the Euro".
Collaboration with industry
The Deputy Rector for International Activities of the Technical University of Sofia, Prof. Eng. Lidia Galbova, stated that the university has long-standing traditions regarding collaboration with industry. "We partner with companies, both from Bulgaria and world-renowned ones from almost all sectors of industry," she added. According to her, in recent years there has been an increased interest from business itself in the educational programs offered by the Technical University of Sofia.
The role of artificial intelligence
"The market is so dynamic with the advent of artificial intelligence," noted Prof. Stanimirov.
Prof. Galbova believes that for success to be achieved, education and business must work in partnership. "Artificial intelligence has changed the dynamics. It is much faster, and we must seek new adequate solutions," pointed out the Deputy Rector for International Activities of the Technical University of Sofia.
Prof. Stanimirov noted that artificial intelligence uses a million more knowledge than us and should not be perceived simply as a technology.
Are engineers lacking
"Colleagues from the industry are widely complaining about a shortage of engineers. The Bulgarian education system is one of the good ones in the European Union (EU). Many of our graduates find employment outside of Bulgaria," said Prof. Galyubova.
According to Prof. Stanimirov, Bulgaria is in last place in terms of innovative activity in Europe. He emphasized that the budget should take care of the well-being of people in the country.
"At the moment, we are observing increased interest from foreign students in studying at the Technical University of Sofia," said Prof. Galyubova.
