Students from the National Professional Gymnasium of Computer Technologies and Systems in Pravets at the Technical University – Sofia are participating in the ongoing International Technical Exhibition – MachTech & Inter Drone Expo, held at the Inter Expo Center in the capital.
"Our school was specially invited and we presented ourselves with our own booth, where we showcased our experience and activities in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles and drones. The students upheld the name of the gymnasium with distinction, demonstrating drone simulators and presenting the stages of designing and building our drone arena," shares Dr. Eng. Ventsislav Nachev, teacher and deputy director at NPG of CTS – Pravets. He thanked for the invitation, as they managed to exchange valuable experience with companies and scientific institutes working in the field of military and civilian applications of drones.
Eng. Nachev specifies that on a separate booth, the tenth-grader Konstantin Naydenov presented his innovative delta robot with artificial intelligence, which attracted the attention of experts and visitors.
The students managed to get in touch with the latest technologies – unmanned aerial vehicles and drones, industrial robots, CNC metal-cutting machines, innovative products, autogyros. In addition, during the demonstrations, they operated drones in a real environment with the help of the drone arena.
The students participating in the Exhibition are from the drone club, which was created for the first time this year. A total of 45 students participate in it. They are divided into three groups, and the idea of the gymnasium's management is to give all of them, as well as the colleagues of Eng. Ventsislav Nachev, the opportunity during the days of the Exhibition to get up close with the technologies and continue to proudly represent their school.
Eng. Nachev is convinced that it is extremely useful for students from professional gymnasiums in Bulgaria to attend such technical exhibitions, as they have the opportunity to get acquainted with new achievements in technology live, to be motivated by innovations and the development of the world. Moreover, under the project for the modernization of vocational education and training, sufficient funds are provided in this direction. The teacher also shares that everything that can be seen at such an exhibition is interesting and very useful not only for students but also for their teachers. "What can be seen is not even taught at universities!" commented Eng. Nachev.
In addition to the groups from NPG of CTS – Pravets, students from the Technological College "Electronic Systems" at TU – Sofia are also presenting at Inter Drone Expo.
