The General Director of Bulgarian National Radio Milen Mitev and the Rector of the Technical University of Sofia, Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The agreement is for creating conditions to support and promote Bulgarian technical education, science, and achievements.
The General Director of BNR Milen Mitev explained that as a media outlet, the Radio is obliged to be close to higher education institutions in the country. "The Technical University and Bulgarian National Radio are two institutions - the university celebrates 80 years, and the radio 90 years since its establishment, and I am glad that these two institutions are joining hands to partner in their activities. As a media outlet, we are obliged to be close to higher education institutions in the country. We would be happy to support the Technical University and tell about its successes and achievements. We would be happy to see university professors more often as experts in our broadcast, because it is very important for the audience to receive information from knowledgeable people, from competent people. Of course, I would be happy to see students from the Technical University as our future colleagues in the national radio".
After signing the agreement, the Rector of the Technical University, Prof. Georgi Venkov, stated: "This is a great honor for the Technical University - a memorandum with the largest media outlet, with the longest history. This year we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Technical University, and I wish for your media to celebrate together many more great anniversaries".
The term of the memorandum between the two institutions is five years.
