Siemens Bulgaria has launched a new initiative to support engineering education in the country with the opening of the first Siemens Corner at the Technical University of Sofia.
The modern and unconventional space is located at the Department of Automation of Continuous Processes (ACP) of the Faculty of Automation and was created to provide a contemporary and inspiring environment for learning and development. The first students already had the opportunity to benefit from this new addition during the thesis defenses held last week.
Located in the foyer of one of the university's most modern laboratories, the Siemens Corner is designed not just as a relaxation area, but also as a place for inspiration and active exchange of ideas. The laboratory where the corner is situated is equipped almost entirely with modern Siemens technologies in the field of industrial and building automation. This provides students with direct access to equipment used in real-world conditions, allowing them to gain valuable practical experience. As an additional step towards modernization, the computers in the laboratory were replaced with high-performance laptops donated by Siemens, ensuring seamless operation with complex engineering software.
The project at the Technical University of Sofia is a pilot project and is the first in a series of Siemens Corners that will be implemented at partner universities of the company in various cities across the country.
