Our compatriot Doris Dukova, residing in Colombia, was the moderator of a lecture-seminar on the topic "Research Innovation Initiatives and Academic Networks" at the Technical University of Sofia, held on June 24, reported BTA. "The open seminar focuses on the capacity for academic cooperation such as short courses and academic missions, resulting from the bilateral agreements of the Technical University with its partners in Colombia and thus the academic networks for collaboration and scientific research with almost all countries in South and Central America," Dukova said. According to her, the Technical University of Sofia is "an interesting and accessible academic destination for students and teachers both for mobility and for longer-term projects such as scientific research and innovations."
During her participation, Doris Dukova noted that 185 students and teachers from Colombia, Ecuador, and Chile have participated in the 11 academic missions organized since 2010.
Doris Dukova was born in Bulgaria, graduated from the Technical University of Plovdiv, and is by profession an electronic engineer specializing in "Telecommunication Systems." She also holds a doctorate in pedagogy with a focus on international education. For about 10 years, she has been living in her father's homeland – Colombia, where she is the founder of the Bulgarian-Colombian Foundation "Aliansa."
In May this year, our compatriot published her first book "The Dark Side of Success," which contains "14 short moral stories" narrated in the first person about the efforts that need to be made to achieve personal and professional success in a foreign country.
