
170 applicants took the regular mathematics exam today at the Technical University – Sofia, Plovdiv Branch, which was held in the IV academic building of the university.
The exam papers were distributed at 9:00 a.m. Candidates had 4 astronomical hours to complete a 30-question mathematics test. The first 20 questions had multiple-choice answers from five options, while the remaining 10 questions required open-ended solutions.
20 proctors monitored compliance with the rules in the exam halls. Candidates were not allowed to use mobile phones, smartwatches, or calculators.
The results will be available by June 19 – Thursday, and can be checked on the university website using the application number for the exam and the personal identification number (EGN).
This is the fourth and final consecutive applicant mathematics exam organized by the Branch of the Technical University – Sofia. The university held preliminary exams in Plovdiv and other major cities, with 534 candidates participating, which is about 25% more than those who took the exam in the previous year. There were 31 excellent grades on the mathematics test, three of which were perfect sixes.
Grades from all exams – preliminary and regular – are valid for applying to all 12 specialties at the Plovdiv Branch, as well as for the Technical University – Sofia and the Faculty and College – Sliven. If any applicant is dissatisfied with their results, they may choose the grade from the state matriculation exam in Bulgarian Language and Literature, Mathematics, Physics, Informatics, or Information Technology for the points calculation. Applications can also be submitted using the grade from the professional matriculation exam (DIIPK), but only in the corresponding professional direction.
The university reminds applicants that for the specialties Intelligent Systems and Artificial Intelligence, and Foreign Language Industrial Engineering, candidates must also present a grade from the state matriculation exam or an applicant exam in English, or a certificate of proficiency in the language.
The submission of application documents at the Technical University – Sofia, Plovdiv Branch, begins on June 20 and will end on July 4, 2025. Applications can be submitted online or in person in room 4430 in the university building at 25 Tsanko Dyustabanov Street.
