
The Bulgarian oil company "InsA Oil" awarded two scholarships to master's students from the Technical University of Sofia, Plovdiv Branch. Mehmed Medev, a student majoring in "Industrial Engineering," and Hristo Kostadinov, majoring in "Mechatronics," will each receive 3000 BGN to support their further studies.
The scholarship recipients were awarded at an official ceremony at the "InsA Oil" headquarters in Strama village, attended by the company's manager Georgi Samuilov and the Director of the TU-Sofia Plovdiv Branch, Assoc. Prof. Nikola Shakov. Also present at the ceremony were the Executive Director of the "Thracian Economic Zone," Eng. Plamen Panchev, Dimitar Panayotov – legal counsel and member of the Board of Directors of "InsA Oil," as well as all students who applied for the program.
The two scholarship recipients, Mehmed Medev and Hristo Kostadinov, received certificates for demonstrating high achievements in their academic process, while all applicants received encouragement awards and fuel cards for the company's gas stations.
The Director of the Plovdiv Branch of the Technical University of Sofia, Assoc. Prof. Nikola Shakov, thanked "InsA Oil" and Georgi Samuilov for their trust and willingness to support young people, and congratulated all students who applied for the scholarships.
"I am proud that as our graduates, you represent the Technical University in a worthy manner. There are many opportunities ahead of you; I hope you choose the most promising one, which will bring you not only high income but also satisfaction," Assoc. Prof. Shakov addressed the young people.
The manager of "InsA Oil" also welcomed the young people who applied for the program and thanked both the Technical University, Plovdiv Branch, and the "Thracian Economic Zone" for the successful partnership. "I am sure that this initiative is just the beginning of our cooperation; we realize how important it is to support education and invest in young people," Samuilov added.
The two distinguished scholarship recipients were selected through a two-round competition – document evaluation and oral interview. The selection committee included the deans of the two faculties of the Plovdiv Branch of the Technical University of Sofia – Assoc. Prof. Mitko Shopov and Assoc. Prof. Krasimir Ambarev, Dimitar Panayotov – legal counsel and member of the Board of Directors of "InsA Oil," Eng. Tsenko Tsvetanov, and Eng. Boyan Iliev – members of the company's team.
The "InsA Oil" scholarship program for students of the Technical University of Sofia, Plovdiv Branch, was established at the beginning of 2025. Financial support for the university's graduates is planned to continue in the next academic year, with the company considering allowing students pursuing a "Bachelor's" degree to apply under the program.
