
The Minister of Education, Krasimir Valkov, handed out higher education diplomas to students from the 2024 graduating class majoring in "Machine Engineering Technologies" at the premises of the Technical College – Sofia affiliated with the Technical University – Sofia in Kazanlak. Official guests at the event also included the Mayor of the municipality, Galina Stoyanova, Deputy Mayors Srebra Kaseva and Akseniya Tileva, the Rector of the Technical University – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, the Chairman of the General Assembly of the Technical College – Sofia and at the Technical University – Sofia, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivaylo Ganev, members of parliament, representatives of business, and high school directors. "Technical higher education is the most valuable and important for our economic development," stated Krasimir Valkov. "I am convinced that in the coming decades, it will be most important to have more specialists in the field of technical education, more engineers," he pointed out. "To continue growing, we need engineers and technical personnel to the greatest extent, and this was one of the reasons why we came here to Kazanlak, which is both a geographical and industrial, machine-building center of Bulgaria, to support and assist in the establishment of the Technical College," the Minister added. He congratulated local employers for supporting the college and investing in their personnel to acquire better professional qualifications. The Minister also extended congratulations to the Municipality of Kazanlak for supporting the college's activities, and thereby the local industry. "Kazanlak is an industrial city where factories operate and need qualified personnel, so I sincerely thank you for your support in establishing the Technical College in Kazanlak," said Galina Stoyanova. "We are grateful that the Technical University recognized Kazanlak as the place for expansion and the establishment of this educational institution," she noted. She also emphasized that the Municipality of Kazanlak truly appreciates this educational campus and supports its development. "It is a joy for me to be here at today's celebration," said Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov. "This diploma is your reward for the efforts made and the results achieved during your studies; it is also a reward for us – your teachers – for the good work done in your growth. I am convinced that it will play the most important role in your professional development, because it is issued by the Technical University – Sofia, and this is highly valued by business," the Rector emphasized. "Let this not be a day of parting; know that the doors of the university are always open to you, and you can continue to higher degrees," he added.
Congratulations were also extended to the graduates by Prof. Ivelo Ganev and Vladimir Spasov, Prokurist of M+S Hidravlik, after which a total of 19 graduates received their diplomas for higher education. The Technical College in Kazanlak was established with the support of local businesses in Kazanlak and the local administration and is one of the four educational bases within the structure of Technical University – Sofia. The college is a center for the development of young specialists in mechanical engineering, where training is conducted at the Kazanlak educational base to obtain the educational-qualificational degree of Professional Bachelor in "Mechanical Engineering Technology". 80 percent of the college's graduates enroll to obtain the educational-qualificational degree of "Master" at Technical University in Sofia, and almost all of them achieve professional success within the territory of Kazanlak Municipality. The main enterprises where graduates continue their professional careers are "Arsenal" JSC and "M+C Hidravlik" JSC. "Arsenal" JSC offers a scholarship program, which is part of the company's policy to attract young specialists. "M+C Hidravlik" JSC covers the semester tuition fee for its workers and employees, determined according to the classification based on documents, conducted by Technical University – Sofia, and provides them with paid leave necessary to attend classes on working days.
