A total of 20 students from the Technical University (TU) in Sofia successfully completed the fourteenth edition of the "Vivacom Technical Academy". This is one of the largest initiatives of the telecom operator in support of professional training and development of third- and fourth-year students in the specialties "Computer Systems and Technologies" and "Telecommunications and Electronics" at the university. Successful graduates receive a certificate that supports the formation of the grade for the master's degree, the company announced.
"The partnership between the Technical University in Sofia and "Vivacom" is a solid proof that when business and education work together, success is inevitable. The Academy gives young people the opportunity to learn from excellent professionals in the fastest-growing telecom in Bulgaria, to get acquainted with the latest technological solutions worldwide, which motivates them to build on their knowledge and become better and better", commented Nikolai Gavrilov, Chief Technical Officer of "Vivacom".
Participants go through eight lecture courses led by experts at "Vivacom", jointly with lecturers at TU-Sofia. With the help of 20 lecturers, students get acquainted with specific topics in the telecommunications field and work in the company through the disciplines: "Software Products and Databases", "Strategy and Development of Telecommunications Networks", "Commercial Solutions", "Legal Framework and Regulation of Telecommunications" and "Technical English".
In addition to specific technical knowledge, young people develop useful skills for communication and behavior in a real business environment through the courses "Project Management", "Presentation Skills" and "Business Etiquette". This year, the program was enhanced with a pilot edition of a workshop on the topic "First Steps in Professional Development". Thanks to it, students received valuable advice on how to prepare their resumes, how to prepare for a job interview, and guidance on suitable internship positions for them.
"The Technical Academy is a clear example of a successful educational initiative that demonstrates how targeted support and innovative approaches can lead to significant results. To date, over 220 students have successfully completed the academy, and every year 40% of successful graduates begin their professional career at "Vivacom". The positive feedback from students and our colleagues motivates us to improve the project every year", says Malina Chavdarova, Director of "Human Resources" at the company.

As part of the training, students at the technical academy of "Vivacom" also visited key company facilities - the largest satellite communications facility "Teleport Plan" and the Network Management Center, where they learned about the history and significance of the facilities and their functions. They had the opportunity to visit Tech Hall as well - an innovative laboratory where the latest technological solutions are presented and tested.
