The 12th edition of the employer exhibition "Internships 2024" took place at the Technical University (TU) in Sofia. The event was opened by the Rector of TU-Sofia, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Eng. Lidia Gálbova - Vice-Rector for International Activities and Integration, Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov - Vice-Rector for Academic Activities, Accreditation and Academic Staff, and Iliya Darakchiev - Chairman of the Student Council of TU-Sofia, the press center of the higher education institution reported.
Prof. Králov stated that the "Internships" exhibition is a traditional forum where employers meet with students and find their future staff. Business representatives actively participate in the educational process by teaching, assigning coursework and diploma theses, case studies, and projects. In this way, the education is adapted to the requirements of the business, and students have the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and skills, a prerequisite for successful professional realization, noted the Rector.
In her welcome address, Prof. Gálbova emphasized that the "Internships" exhibition is a landmark and important event because it gives students the opportunity to get to know their future employers, understand what lies ahead in their practice, and gain confidence that the knowledge and skills acquired at TU-Sofia guarantee them a successful professional career.
More than 100 companies participated in the forum, 30 percent of which are foreign, proof of the fruitful partnership between TU-Sofia and business, which finds here the most suitable and highly qualified specialists, Prof. Gálbova said.
On behalf of the Student Council, Iliya Darakchiev urged students to take advantage of the opportunities of the "Internships 2024" forum for new contacts with employers and finding suitable positions for professional internships, and most importantly - to gain experience in a real working environment. The exhibition, organized by the Technical University in Sofia, is a widely open door for our future career development, he added.
Throughout the day, students had the opportunity for conversations at the booths of companies located in the first, second, and 12th academic blocks of the university.
The "Internships 2024" forum continues on April 17 at the TU-Sofia branch in Plovdiv, with the participation of more than 50 companies. The official opening will be at 10:15 a.m. in the building of the branch in Plovdiv, at 25 Tsanko Dyustabanov Street.
