The Technological University Dublin hosted a meeting of the European Technological University Alliance (EUt+). The Alliance includes nine European universities, including the Technical University of Sofia, the Bulgarian Embassy in Ireland announced on its Facebook page.
"A delegation from Bulgaria, led by Prof. Lidia Galabova, Deputy Rector for International Activities and Integration at the Technical University of Sofia, actively participated in the conference," the diplomatic mission stated.
Other higher education institutions that are part of the Alliance are: the University of Technology Troyes, France; the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences, Germany; the Riga Technical University, Latvia; the Technological University Dublin, Ireland; the Cyprus University of Technology; the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Spain; the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania; and the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Italy.
"The goal of the Alliance is to unite the teaching and research capacity of the partners and to bring scientific research and education offered by the universities of the Alliance to a qualitatively new level," the Embassy noted.
The agenda of the meeting, held from April 8 to 12, included conferences and informal working meetings where the provision of high-quality education and the conduct of cutting-edge research were discussed. The plenary sessions also included masterclasses, according to a post on the official website of the Technical University of Sofia.
Within the framework of the two-day forum, an event organized by the newly established organization "Think Tank" was held, dedicated to the topic of European values, at which the Ambassador of Bulgaria in Ireland, Vanya Andreeva, was present, the Bulgarian diplomatic representation in Ireland clarified.
