Over 1,200 applicants took the first preliminary entrance exam in mathematics at the Technical University (TU) in Sofia and its branches in Plovdiv and Sliven, the press center of the higher education institution announced today. Applicants from Sofia - Darina-Antonia Panayotova and Blagovest Paunov, drew the second variant of the prepared mathematics exam questions.
The exam lasted four astronomical hours, divided into two modules of 120 minutes each, with a mandatory 15-minute break between them. The first module consisted of 20 less difficult tasks, with each correctly solved task earning one point. The second module consisted of ten more difficult tasks, with each correctly solved task earning two points. The maximum number of points for the test is 40.
Each applicant will be able to see their exam score in their personal applicant information on the TU-Sofia website after the exam results are announced.
For the academic year 2024/2025, applicants can choose from over 65 specialties. The Technical University in Sofia is the leading higher technical school in the country and the region, offering high-quality education in the most modern and promising fields of engineering and technical sciences. TU-Sofia is also part of the European Technological University EUt+, an alliance of nine universities, and will provide its students with the opportunity to study under joint programs at various campuses and to receive a European diploma.
The Technical University in Sofia is organizing online applicant studios again this year, which are broadcast weekly on the higher education institution's YouTube channel. During the online meetings, deans, professors, and outstanding students present the specialties of the 14 faculties of TU-Sofia, its branches, and two colleges, as well as the opportunities for successful professional realization.
The series of preliminary entrance exams continues in April. On April 6 at 9:00 a.m., preliminary entrance exams in English and German will be held at Technical University Sofia, and at the Plovdiv branch - in English.
On April 6 at 9:00 a.m., a preliminary exam in "Drawing" will also be held at the Technical University in Sofia, and on April 7 at 9:00 a.m. - in "Composition". Applications for the specialty "Engineering Design" are made through the competitive exams in drawing and composition, and successful completion of a foreign language exam is required for admission to specialties with instruction in English and German.
Preliminary entrance exams in mathematics will also take place on April 13 in Varna, Dupnitsa, Kardzhali, Montana, Pleven, Razgrad, and Stara Zagora, and on April 27 in Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Vratsa, Pravets, Sandanski, Smolyan, Targovishte, and Haskovo.
