Education is a conservative system, and the possibility of a flexible curriculum gives TUES an advantage, as it can develop subjects in their most current form, which is needed by business. The successful formula for the partnership between business and education is to find the tipping point relative to the interests of all stakeholders. The freedom we have regarding the educational process, curricula, and extracurricular activities we provide to students, and the empowerment of students, is also a tipping point for all stakeholders. This gives students freedom but also brings responsibility, commented Dr. Veselka Hristova, acting director of TUES, and Kirilka Angelova, Executive Director of the TUES Alumni Association, in the show "Business Start" hosted by Roselina Petkova.
The major challenge for the management of TUES is maintaining its good image and improving its reputation. TUES is part of the Technical University structure, with a large portion of its teachers being university faculty or professionals from the business sector. Upon graduation, students prepare a diploma project, where supervisors can be individuals from the IT business world, said Hristova.
Education is a conservative system, and the possibility of a flexible curriculum gives the school an advantage, as it can develop subjects in their most current form, which is what business needs. Young people from business environments who teach students show the path they have taken in the development of the sector.

"In our case specifically, the school is the center of this community. The business that supports the school is connected to it for one reason or another. This freedom we have regarding the educational process, curricula, and extracurricular activities we provide to students, and the empowerment of students, is also a tipping point for all stakeholders who have an interest. Our youth have the opportunity to participate, organize, support, and even be part of the educational process in some way, through volunteer initiatives at the school. This is the successful formula – to have freedom, but freedom brings responsibility."
Students are taught topics that can be directly applied in professional fields after graduation. The school also offers internships, which show students a real work environment. The participation of companies in the educational process is linked to the corporate social responsibility of business.
This week, the tenth edition of Hack TUES will take place, which is the largest student hackathon in Bulgaria. There are 70 student teams, 70 mentors, and 12 teams of alumni, along with many interesting speakers. The goal is to celebrate the entire community, from students to practitioners in the field. Teams in the hackathon choose a mentor from the business sector, which strengthens the ties between education and business in the industry.
