The Technical University (TU) in Sofia will host the working meeting
"Sofia week" of the representatives of the nine members of the European Technological
University EUt+: Technological University - Troyes (France), coordinator; TU-
Sofia; University of Applied Sciences - Darmstadt (Germany); Technological
University - Dublin (Ireland); Riga Technical University (Latvia);
Technical University - Cluj-Napoca (Romania); Polytechnic University -
Cartagena (Spain); Cyprus University of Technology (Cyprus); University of
Cassino and Southern Lazio (Italy).
The working meeting "Sofia week" will take place from February 26 to March 1.
The European Technological University EUt+ is an innovative alliance of leading
technical universities committed to promoting innovation, high
quality and collaboration in engineering education and research across
Europe. The event is linked to the commitment of the newly formed European
academic alliance to create an open, multicultural and interdisciplinary
academic community dedicated to shaping a new European model of
higher education based on scientific research.
The event in Sofia will provide guidance on addressing complex challenges,
important for the successful future development of the nine universities united in EUt+.
The main focus of the meeting will be on providing high-quality
education and conducting cutting-edge research. The forum will encourage
the academic community in common policies and engagement.
In the second phase of integration, the EUt+ alliance is committed to creating
joint educational programs at all levels, which will reflect mutually
accepted values and high standards of education. Part of the efforts will be
aimed at building the capacity of the academic staff, through
a variety of master classes covering different areas - from skills for
project management and their development in the application of tools for analysis of
research based on artificial intelligence. All will be regulated by
European regulations for quality assurance and guidelines, through which to
promote the transformation of national training regulations, to
achieving high European standards.
Excellent university education requires a solid scientific foundation, and the members of EUt+ will continue their constant efforts to obtain a comprehensive assessment of scientific strategies and achieved results, teaching methodologies, and knowledge transfer activities. This joint work aims to harmonize and develop a common plan that will serve as the basis for a modern strategy for scientific research and innovation of the Union. The European Technological University continues with its core efforts towards strengthening the links between science and society through the creation of human-centric technologies.
"Sofia week" will provide a suitable opportunity to strengthen scientific cooperation among the members of the EUt+ alliance on the path of transforming the
European higher education environment. The forum testifies to the collective spirit that drives the EUt+ alliance towards shaping the future of
higher education and scientific research in Europe.
The official opening of "Sofia week" is on February 27 at the building of the
National Center for Mechatronics and Clean Technologies, in block 8 of TU-Sofia.
