An information day on the "Erasmus+" program took place at the Technical University (TU) in Sofia. "Erasmus+" is one of the oldest European programs that give students the opportunity to equalize their knowledge in the European educational space. This program stimulates students from all over the world to study to high standards and then acquire adequate modern knowledge, regardless of which university and which country they received their education in, the higher education institution reports. The event was opened by Prof. Tasho Tashev, Dean of the Faculty of English Engineering Studies (FAIES), and institutional coordinator for the "Erasmus+" program at TU-Sofia, and by Prof. Liudiya Galbova, Deputy Rector for international activities and integration at the Technical University. Many students who have actively participated in the program and first-year students, who shared that they would gladly join the adventure to get to know Europe and the world, enrich their knowledge, friendships, and feel like citizens of the world, were present at the forum. Prof. Tashev spoke about the opportunities and the active countries participating in the program. He noted that the program has been particularly effective at the Technical University in Sofia for many years. It was extremely interesting for the students that the university maintains ties with the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, the Republic of South Africa, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Albania, and the Fiji Islands. From the associated countries, TU-Sofia also maintains contacts with the Republic of North Macedonia, Turkey, Serbia, Norway, and Iceland, in addition to having two active projects in countries outside the European Union and outside the associated countries. These are the United States of America, Canada, and Chile. "Why is it important for a person to travel?" Prof. Galbova asked the students present. She emphasized that in addition to the scientific knowledge that will be acquired at foreign university partners, everyone who participates in the program will get to know many different cultures and different people. It is important, she emphasized, how teaching is done in different places and to acquire invaluable scientific and life experience. "In our contemporary times, it is important to travel," she noted. "At the same time, TU-Sofia is part of the large family called the European Technological University EUt+. This is an alliance of nine universities. Each of you can look at the opportunities for study at these eight partners of the Technical University in Sofia and see what programs are available. The goal is to equalize the standards of education and, upon graduation, to emerge as European engineers with diplomas that are recognized everywhere. All over Europe," said Prof. Liudiya Galbova. Angel Atanasov from the company "Coca-Cola" also participated in the information day. Many students who have participated in the "Erasmus+" program made interesting presentations, sharing the most exciting moments of their stay in various countries. Veselin Gospodinov from the Faculty of Computer Systems and Technologies (FCST) spoke about Ostrava, Czech Republic, Evgeniya Genova about her stay in Malaga, Spain, and Georgi Vasilev about Aveiro, Portugal. Aleksi Motsi from the Faculty of French Engineering Studies (FFES) explained the unforgettable friendships created, while Amanda Todorova, Blagovest Stanov, and Boril Gatev, who visited Troyes University in France, spoke about the European Technological University EUt+ project. Finally, a lively discussion took place about the benefits of the international contacts of the Technical University in Sofia.
