
Prof. Dr. Georgi Angelov and Martin Gikov have been appointed as Deputy Ministers of Innovation and Growth by order of the Prime Minister.

The Minister of Innovation and Growth, Milena Stoycheva, received today the newly appointed Deputy Ministers of Innovation and Growth, Prof. Dr. Georgi Angelov and Martin Gikov, at the Ministry.
"I am convinced that with your professional experience and expertise, you will develop and promote innovation, high technologies, and investments both for the Bulgarian business, startups, and entrepreneurial ecosystem, as well as for our society. I believe that together – the three of us, with the help of the entire team of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth – we will succeed in turning Bulgaria into a destination with high added value through human and intellectual capital. We will strive to be one of the partners for new technologies and cutting-edge solutions in this sector," Minister Stoycheva addressed them.
She wished them success in their new positions and assured them that together they would work to position Bulgaria as a country of the new generation of deep innovations, which, through the commercialization of scientific and research solutions, new business models, and startup culture, will increase the competitiveness of the economy.
Prof. Dr. Eng. Georgi Angelov

He is a Professor Doctor at the Technical University – Sofia. He graduated from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" with a Master's degree in Physics. He defended his doctoral degree in microelectronics at TU-Sofia. He is the Head of the Department of "Microelectronics" at the same university. He is also the head of the Micro Nano Lab at Sofia Tech Park and Chairman of the Board of the Cluster for Microelectronics and Industrial Electronic Systems. Georgi Angelov is the author of over 110 scientific publications in international journals. He has participated as a researcher and project leader in over 30 international and national projects.
Martin Gikov

Until now, he has been the Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund of Funds. He has held leadership positions in the banking sector and has worked in large international companies. He holds a Master's degree in Business Administration for Senior Management "Global Executive MBA" from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, WU – Vienna, and the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, USA. He holds a Master's degree in "Accounting Management" from UNSS. He holds a Bachelor's degree in "Finance, Economics, and International Business" from Arizona State University – ASU. He also holds a number of certificates and licenses from NASD, ACCA, and Harvard Business School.
