Within the framework of the ESO program "School for Energy Specialists," students from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of TU-Sofia visited the Stolnik 400/220/110 kV substation. The substation of the Electric Power System Operator in the municipality of Elin Pelin, within the territory of the Sofia-region network operation district, is the largest on the Balkan Peninsula. 18 fourth-year students studying in the specialization "Power Plants and Substations" familiarized themselves with the 400 kV open-type switchgear, as well as with the substation's control room. The purpose of the visit was to stimulate students' interest in future career opportunities within the structures of the Electric Power System Operator, as well as to provide opportunities for gaining practical experience through the company's internship and scholarship programs.
