

80 students and faculty members participated in the forum "Combating Human Trafficking for Forced Labor". They are from the Technical University of Sofia, Faculty and College, Sliven, the University "Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov", Burgas, and the South-West University "Neofit Rilski", Blagoevgrad. The organizers of the event were the secretaries of the Local Commissions for Combating Human Trafficking in Sliven, Burgas, and Blagoevgrad. Rositsa Yaneva, secretary of the LCBHT - Burgas, provided an overview of the crime of human trafficking, Lyubka Kstadina, secretary of the LCBHT - Blagoevgrad, synthesized the root causes of the development of modern slavery, and Vladimir Drumev, secretary of the LCBHT - Sliven, presented current information on human trafficking for labor exploitation in the European context. Emphasis was placed on migration and refugee flows in connection with the war in Ukraine and the resulting social and economic changes, which are a prerequisite for the alarming increase in the scale of the crime. In the second part of the event, Mikhail Stefanov, a consultant and trainer with many years of experience in organizing and conducting preventive activities related to human trafficking, joined. A specialized video material was presented, which shows the risky situations that young people face in the process of finding employment.
