The cost of pedagogy is increasing in four higher education institutions. Against the backdrop of the symbolic amount of only 7 BGN (1%) by which the state increased the funding for student education, 27 out of the 37 state higher education institutions in the country plan to raise tuition fees for their Bulgarian students. Pedagogy is becoming more expensive in 4 out of the 9 state universities that offer it, and medicine - almost everywhere, but for specific courses. Among the universities that are keeping their fees for bachelor's and master's programs at the same level as last year are Sofia University, Plovdiv University, Shumen University, TU-Sofia, TU-Gabrovo, UASG, HTMU, University of Food Technologies, University of Agriculture, and the Higher Construction College "L. Karavelov". However, many of them are increasing either the fees for foreign students or the application fees. This becomes clear from the draft resolution of the Council of Ministers for approving the fees for application and education of students and doctoral students for the academic year 2022/23. Mathematics - the field with one of the lowest admissions in the country and a large deficit of personnel - only 2 are raising the fee for this field. At Ruse University, it jumps from

At UM-Plovdiv, fifth-year full-time students in medicine, pharmacy, and dental medicine will pay 1200 BGN instead of the current 950 BGN. In contrast, there is a reduction for part-time master's students after a bachelor's in public health - from 1200 to 800 BGN. At TU-Varna, energy studies for first-year students (regular bachelor's) will be more expensive - from 650 to 1210 BGN, or by a full 65%; ship machinery - from 1120 to 1300 BGN for third-year students; ship electrical installations - from 1210 to 1400 BGN for regular bachelor's students in the third year; and navigation - from 1290 to 1600 BGN (again for the third year).
