

On April 2 at 9:00 AM, the second of a total of three remote preliminary candidate admission exams in mathematics will take place at the Technical University (TU) in Sofia. This was announced by the press center of the higher education institution. Nearly 1,000 candidates took the first preliminary mathematics exam held on March 19, which is evidence of the huge interest in studying at the leading technical higher education institution in the country. The exam will be conducted using a specialized university platform and the Google Meet application. Candidates admitted to the exam must have remote access via a continuous internet connection to a computer configuration with a working video camera and microphone. The duration of the exam is four astronomical hours, divided into two modules of 120 minutes each, with a mandatory 15-minute break between them. The first module consists of 20 tasks of lower difficulty, with each correctly solved task worth 1 point. The second module consists of 10 tasks of higher difficulty, with each correctly solved task worth 2 points. The maximum number of points for the test is 40. The Technical University in Sofia is organizing its candidate admission campaign this year in the format of online studios, which are broadcast weekly on the TU-Sofia YouTube channel from February 24 to May 12 here. During the online meetings, deans, professors, and outstanding students present over 30 bachelor's specializations across the 14 faculties of TU-Sofia, four of which are new - "Intelligent Systems and Artificial Intelligence", "Intelligent Systems and Artificial Intelligence - in English", "Data Analysis", and "Cybersecurity". According to the university rating system, TU-Sofia has been leading in six professional fields for another year - "Mechanical Engineering", "Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Automation", "Communications and Computer Engineering", "Energy", "Transport, Shipping and Aviation", and "General Engineering". The Technical University in Sofia is one of the two accredited higher education institutions in Bulgaria included in the authoritative global Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2022, placed in the "1201+" position among more than 2,000 universities from 99 countries. The Technical University in Sofia is a co-founder of the European Technological University EUt+, an alliance of eight European higher education institutions, thereby opening new opportunities for modern education through mobility and for obtaining European bachelor's and master's degrees for students.
