

Ranking according to Times Higher Education (THE) for 2022. The University of Oxford is in first place. Two of the 52 accredited higher education institutions in Bulgaria find a place in the world. Times Higher Education (THE) university ranking for 2022. It includes over 1600 higher education institutions from 99 countries. The Technical University of Sofia made its debut in the ranking, as does Sofia University. Both are ranked after the first 1200. (the category is "1201+") with 10.6–22.3 points. Below the line, among higher education institutions that are not included with a serial number, is the Higher School of Management in Varna. For comparison, Romania is represented by 18 higher education institutions, the first of which – the University of Bucharest – is in the group of those ranked between 501st and 600th place. From Greece there are 13. First is the Harokopio University of Athens, #351-400. Serbia has three, as do we, but all three are ranked and the first – the University of Kragujevac – is in the group between #401 and #500. The Top 10 continues to be dominated by the USA and the United Kingdom. The first place is retained by the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Second place this year is shared by the American California Institute of Technology and Harvard. Fourth place goes to Stanford University, fifth place is shared by Cambridge and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
