At the national level, there is a mismatch of specialties, but here industrial development is strong
Interview with Zhivka Tancheva and Prof. Dr. Vaelo Nikolov.
The Higher Education Map has been published for public discussion until July 18 on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science. In the program "Exactly Today," more about the demand and supply of specialties, about Plovdiv universities, and a conversation with Prof. Dr. Vaelo Nikolov, director of the branch of the Technical University in Plovdiv. There, starting today (June 21), the acceptance of documents for the next academic year has begun. Prof. Nikolov stated that the position of TU is important both for the city and for the region. He also found a place in the roadmap of scientific infrastructure, which was published on June 14 this year. The Plovdiv university will work on projects within the framework of the Operational Program "Science and Education for Intelligent Growth," where they already have renovated facilities with laboratories for training future engineers. The third building of TU, which was formerly a base of the French Girls' College, from the end of the 19th century, is now new and modernized. Regarding the Higher Education Map, Prof. Nikolov said that the places for admission under state order are already clear. Among them, those for engineering specialties, as well as those for information and communication technologies, have been preserved as declared by the university. TU, Plovdiv branch, has approved admissions and has started accepting documents in person at the branch building. 12 specialties will be offered at the branch, with the greatest interest being in the specialty "Computer Systems and Technologies," followed in recent years by the specialty "Design and Print Communications."
