In 2021, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Bulgaria will enhance its internship program with diverse initiatives. How can an internship become a springboard to a dream profession and what opportunities does the technical sector offer to students in our country? These questions are answered by the new virtual series "The Internship – Steps to Success" of the Technical University – Sofia. The initiative introduces future technical specialists to the internship programs of some of the leading technology companies in our country, as well as the opportunities for further development they reveal. During the virtual meeting, employers have the opportunity to answer the questions of the TU – Sofia graduates present in the online studio. In today's article, we will trace how Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Bulgaria participated in the career event. Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Bulgaria has been present on the Bulgarian industrial market for over 70 years, during which it operated as the "Vasil Kolarov" plant and Hyundai Elprom Trafo. Since 2020, the company has been part of the Slovakia-based BEZ International Group. Within the structure of the holding company specializing in the production of power transformers, the Bulgarian subsidiary is taking a new direction of development based on change and dynamics. Currently, the team of the Bulgarian company consists of 545 specialists, of whom 67 are engineers and 320 are employed in production. The long history of Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Bulgaria is based on rich traditions, expertise, and know-how in transformer production, which it passes on to young technical specialists. One of the successful mechanisms for this is the company's long-standing internship program. "In the "Step Regulators" department of the "Structures" sector, more than half of our colleagues have been our interns. We are looking for young people who still lack experience but are ready to give their all and show their skills," stated Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Bulgaria. "We conduct internships in various directions. Our main focus is on technical positions – in the key design units "Transformers" and "Step Regulators". We are also looking for interns in the "Quality Management", "Human Resources" departments, etc.," commented the company's team. This year, Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Bulgaria has set an ambitious goal to enhance its program and will offer students training, participation in volunteer initiatives, competitions, interesting innovative projects with added value for the company, etc. Young people will be able to gain experience from proven narrow specialists in the industry and will work under the guidance of a mentor. A monthly salary and social benefits are also provided. Applications are currently being collected, and the positions are aimed at students in their 3rd and 4th year, as the company's goal is to build on the theoretical knowledge base of students. Priority for selection are the specialties "Automation", "Energy", "Electrical Engineering", and "Mechanical Engineering". The internships start in the summer and last from 1 to 3 months. They are also the direct path to starting work at Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Bulgaria, as one third of the company's employees have followed exactly this career path.
