The Mayor of Kazanlak: "It is a dream come true for Kazanlak to be a city of students." Mayor Galina Stoyanova participated in the awarding of diplomas to the first graduating class of the Technical College – Kazanlak, part of the Technical University – Sofia, at a solemn ceremony held on Sevtopolis Square during the recent holiday Saturday. Special guests included the Rector of the Technical University – Sofia, Prof. Ivan Králov, the Executive Director of "Arsenal" Nikolay Ibushov, the Prokurist of "M+S Hydraulics" Vladimir Spasov, the heads of the Technical College – Kazanlak, with which the educational institution maintains close professional ties, as well as relatives and close ones of the graduates of the First Class. Galina Stoyanova congratulated the first graduates of the higher education institution: "Today's day is a dream I had even when I became mayor. A dream that I received from previous mayors and many residents of Kazanlak – that Kazanlak should be a city of students. You are the real fact that this dream is true. Thank you for trusting the Technical College – Kazanlak, the Technical University – Sofia, and the Kazanlak business, so that we could start this training," she congratulated the graduates. "I am sure that you will invite us to your master's studies. Bravo, congratulations to you! When there is a very big dream and good people and friends are sought – they meet!", stated the Mayor of Kazanlak. She asked for God's blessing on the work of the teachers and the local business, "who made this miracle and the Kazanlak dream come true." The Director of the Technical College – Kazanlak, part of the Technical University – Sofia, Prof. Ivaylo Ganev, recalled the difficult beginning three years ago: "We were convinced of our cause and that is why we succeeded!", he told about the training of good engineering specialists and noted the strong commitment of the mayor and the local business. By decision of the Academic Council of the Technical University – Sofia, the highest distinction – the Gold Medal of the University for exceptional contribution to the creation and development of the Technical College – was awarded to Mayor Galina Stoyanova, Nikolay Ibushov, and Vladimir Spasov. The prestigious prize for the 75th Anniversary of TU-Sofia was also awarded to 11 heads of machine-building enterprises who contributed to the development of modern material base and equipment for the quality training of students in the college, organizers of corporate departments for education and qualification. The pioneers of the college receive the educational-qualifying degree "Professional Bachelor", major "Machine Building Technology". The graduates presented their Letter of Gratitude personally to Mayor Galina Stoyanova and the Municipality of Kazanlak, to all who contributed to their successful completion: "Thank you for giving us the opportunity to study, improve ourselves, and complete our higher education in the city where we work and live!". In the Letter of Gratitude, they also express a wish to all future students: "It is never too late to learn, because a person can achieve as much as they know.". The first graduating class solemnly took the Galilean Oath, promising to use what they have learned solely for peaceful purposes, for a better world. After many years of searching for opportunities to open a higher education institution in Kazanlak, it was opened in the second term of Mayor Galina Stoyanova with Council of Ministers Decree No. 187/31.08.2017 (State Gazette No. 72/05.09.2017). At that time, she defined the success as a good example of partnership with business and the academic community. For the new academic year, 200 new students crossed the threshold of the Technical College in Kazanlak.
