The Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management at the Technical University – Sofia and the Bulgarian Red Cross, as an associated partner in the project "Competences in Health Network Management – Com.HeNet", organized an international online meeting to present a unified profile of a regional health network manager. The profile includes necessary basic competencies based on interviews with experts from six countries. The project "Competences in Health Network Management" (Com.HeNet) is funded by the EU Erasmus+ program and is implemented by a consortium of several European higher education centers: FOM University of Applied Sciences, Munich; Catholic University "St. Anthony", Murcia; Loránd Eötvös University; Silesian Medical University; Ioanneum University College; and Technical University, Sofia. Associated partners are the Health and Food Safety Authority of Bavaria and the Bulgarian Red Cross. The main objective is the development of modules for a Health Network Management study program according to European standards, which enables health professionals to implement and successfully manage health networks at the regional level in accordance with European quality guidelines. Key highlights of the meeting program included the presentation of the project by Eng. Hristomir Yordanov – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management at the Technical University – Sofia, the presentation of the unified European profile of a regional health network manager by Dr. Nadezhda Todorovska – Deputy Director General of the Bulgarian Red Cross, as well as the Bulgarian experience in training health managers by Prof. Dr. Todorka Kostadinova – Deputy Rector of the Medical University – Varna. The meeting was actively attended by Milka Vasileva – Chair of the Bulgarian Association of Public Health, Prof. Ivanka Stambolova from the Faculty of Public Health at the Medical University – Sofia, Dr. Stanimir Hasardzhiev – Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Patient Organization. From the "D. A. Tsenov" Academy of Economics, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rumen Yerusalimov – Deputy Rector and Head of the Department of "Insurance and Social Work" and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikolay Ninov – Head of the Master's Program "Health Management" participated in the discussion. Academic teachers from the Ruse University expressed their support for the team participating in the project and shared their views on the discussed issues regarding the introduction of the figure of a regional health network manager. Project partners thanked the Ruse teachers for their participation and expressed hope for future cooperation in the field of training students and specialists in health management.
