Bulgarian alpine skiers Eva Vukadinova and Yuliya Zlatkova took 28th and 31st place respectively today in the giant slalom at the World Junior and Youth Championships in Bansko. In the under-18 girls' standings, Zlatkova is sixth, and the champion is Miho Mizutani (JPN). "I skied quite securely, but at the cost of being slow. I could have performed better. Tomorrow in the slalom, I will try to enter the top 30 in the first run and then make a strategy for the second," Vukadinova said. "The course was perfect. The snowfall did not hinder us much. We can do much more, but we still put up a decent performance. My goal in the slalom is to make 2 clean runs and show the best possible," Zlatkova commented. The World Champion under 21 is Hana Aronson Elfman (SWE). She beat Marte Monsen (NOR) by 0.75 sec and Nea Dvornik (SVN) by 0.88 sec. "I can't believe I succeeded in winning today. This is my biggest success. The track was perfect, as well as the overall organization of the world championship," Elfman commented after the finish. 72 alpine skiers from 34 countries participated in the race on the "Marc Girardelli" piste. 40 alpine skiers finished the race. Tomorrow at 9 and 11:30 is the last discipline - girls' slalom. You can watch it live at www.bansko2021.ski.
