The results from the Bulgarian language and literature, mathematics, history and civilization, geography and economics, biology and health education, chemistry and environmental protection, foreign language, and some other subjects will be accepted for admission to 41 higher education institutions for the 2021-2022 academic year. At universities offering more than one professional specialization, the Bulgarian language and literature result can be used to apply for over 20 specializations. These include Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Veliko Tarnovo University "Sts. Cyril and Methodius", Plovdiv University "Paisiy Hilendarski", Ruse University "Angel Kanchev", Trakia University in Stara Zagora, Shumen University "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski", and South-West University "Neofit Rilski" in Blagoevgrad. The results from the maturity exams are valid for all specializations at UNSS. At the Dimitar A. Tsenov Academy of Economics in Svishtov, applicants will again be able to apply for all specializations of the academy using results from all maturity exams. At the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in Sofia, graduates will be able to apply for 25 different specializations using results from the exams in chemistry and environmental protection, mathematics, physics and astronomy, and Bulgarian language and literature. The technical universities in Varna, Gabrovo, and Sofia will also accept students with results from the maturity exams in Bulgarian language and literature, mathematics, and physics and astronomy for most of their specializations. At the National Academy of Music in Sofia, admission this year will be based on the State Maturity Exam (DZI) or an exam in the theory and practice of the profession for qualifications from arts schools for certain specializations. At the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, there are also specializations where applicants can apply with a DZI result in the profession. The National Sports Academy (NSA) will accept DZI results for the specializations "Sport", "Physical Education", and "Kinesitherapy". The MVA Academy will also admit students with maturity exam results for some specializations where the training is part-time. It will not be possible to apply using only DZI results in the remaining 11 of the 52 accredited higher education institutions. Among them are NATAFIZ, NBU, NCA, the Military Academy "Georgi S. Rakovski", as well as the military specializations at the military schools in Veliko Tarnovo and Dolna Mitropoliya. The same situation applies to the medical universities. Partially, the results from the state maturity exams in biology will be used in forming the competitive score for the specializations "Health Management", "Logopedics", and "Medical Optics" at the Medical University in Varna. At the Medical University in Pleven, the biology result from the maturity exam will participate in the score calculation with a specific coefficient, but not for all specializations. Information on the recognition of state maturity exam results for the 2021 applicant campaign in accredited state and private higher education institutions is published on the Ministry of Education and Science website for higher education institutions and for specializations at the address: https://www.mon.bg/bg/111. The methods of forming batches for the specialties are provided by the respective higher education institution.
