University teachers and non-teaching staff will be tested for coronavirus. This assurance was received by representatives of the Rectors' Council from the leadership of the Ministry of Health during a meeting at the ministry. The goal is to check the extent of the spread of COVID-19 throughout the education system in the country, the Ministry of Health explained. The testing campaign, which precedes the phased restoration of in-person activities in the education sector, has included university teachers from the very beginning. Any of them who wish to do so will be able to be tested for COVID-19. The testing of education sector workers, which started this month, is voluntary and free. At the meeting at the Ministry of Health were present the Rector of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and Chairman of the Rectors' Council Prof. Dr. Anastas Gerdzhikov, the Dean of the Faculty of Law at SU Prof. Dr. Daniel Vachev, the Rector of the Technical University Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov, the Rector of the University of Mining and Geology Prof. Dr. Ivelin Koprèv, and the Rector of the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts Prof. Dr. Nikolai Izov.
